Long Island Family Loses Everything in House Fire Two Days After Christmas

A family from Long Island, New York has unfortunately lost everything after their home went up in flames just two days after Christmas.

The Navarro family, who lived on Buscher Avenue in Valley Stream, New York, lived on the first floor of a home that caught fire at around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. Around 75 firefighters from five different fire departments on Long Island responded to the call, according to Fios 1 News.

Although so many first responders arrived, the home was completely destroyed – leaving Luis and Deanna Navarro displaced with their three, young daughters, all under the age of 14.

According to Luis' co-worker, Luis and is a "hard worker," and a "great person." He believes this family deserves all the help they can possibly get.

Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe account in order to help the family get back on their feet. While losing your home is absolutely devastating, losing everything you've ever owned just before the New Year is absolutely tragic.

"This beautiful family lost everything in a fire that took place in Valley Stream on 12/27/2016. Just two days after Christmas. They are my family and I am here asking for your help. They need help starting over. I understand that we are all low on cash due to the holidays but I ask that you find it in your heart to make a donation . If you know them you know how wonderful they are and if you don't let me give you a little insight. My cousin Luis is the most loving caring person I know he is always there to make other smile and happy; along with his wife Deanna they are the true definition of love. This is a tough time for them they have 3 beautiful girls who start school in a week and unfortunately the fire took everything they owned. The girls are loving, outgoing and happy it upsets me to know all their christmas presents are ashes now.  Even through this tough time their love for each other has managed to keep them with good spirits.
Everything is a big help in this time of need no matter how small.

If you would like to donate furniture, clothes or even a gift card you might have gotten for the holidays contact me through Facebook.

Please share this with everyone you know."

While everyone goes through tough times, it's impossible to imagine having to start all over again this time of year. With the holiday season upon us, what better way of giving back than helping a family in need.

If you'd like to make a donation to this wonderful family, it can be made HERE.
